Blanton Creek RV Park, CLOSED until next Season

Labor Day, marked the end of the 2013 camping season and our last working day. All sites were occupied making for a busy three days for Judy and I.  We got to see a lot of our "regulars" and let them know we would not be returning next year because of our travel goals. Many advised us to follow our dreams while we don't have any major health issues. All said some very nice things about the way Judy and I performed our host duties and said they would miss us. We know we will miss them and our co-hosts, Ed & Char.

The earliest we plan to leave here will be 8 Sept and the latest will be around 12 Sept. It was very nice of Mike to let us hang around the park until we decide what day we will leave. I am sure we will be seeing him and Richard during this time. As I have said before, this has been a great gig.

Here are a few pics from this weekend. Note: click pic to enlarge

  1. The summer sure went by fast. It's nice to end a workamping job and not have that schedule to worry about.

  2. It's heartening to hear that your workamping experience went so well. It must feel good to be there until the end of the season to have a sense of closure and a job well done. I am sure you two will be missed.

    1. I recommended your blog to one of our campers yesterday! I had told him we hoped to be out Oregon way next year and he mentioned how much he likes that area.

  4. Glad you made it to the end of the season. I don't understand why they close the park so early. I guess there isn't enough business to keep it open?

    1. Karen,
We get quizzed often from the campers about the closure date. The answer given to us is as you said, not enough business. They (who ever they are)say it has been tried a number of times and different ways, each time the same result. People are just too wrapped up in their kids soccer, football and watching the Univ. of GA. football games around here!

  5. Hope that you enjoy your travels. We live not far from Blanton and kept meaning to stop by to meet you but missed the chance. I have really enjoyed reading your blog and best of luck to both of you.
